Beach Volleyball Competition Regulations
Competition Categories
- General Division (Competitive): Men’s, Women’s. (For those who love the sport and seek competition).
- Fun Division (Recreational): Mixed Gender. (Focus on participation; commemorative medals awarded).
Objectives
To promote sports exchange among LGBTQ+ communities across Asia, enhance the values of gender and sexual orientation equality, advocate for a sporting culture, and promote physical and mental health, the 2026 Asia Pride Games are hereby organized.
Eligibility
- Open to all domestic and international athletes who are friendly to gender diversity and support gender equality.
- There are no restrictions on gender or age.
- Participants under the age of 18 must obtain consent from a legal guardian.
- Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent.
- Please download the Parental Consent Form from the Sports Regulations page on the website and email the signed copy to gaygames.tw@gmail.com.
- Minors who are married are exempt from this requirement
Registration
- Registration Period: From now until January 30, 2026, at 23:59. Late registrations will not be accepted.
- Registration Method: Online registration onl.
- Regulations, schedules, and results will be posted on the Association’s website.
- Registration is complete only after payment. Unpaid or late payments are invalid.
- Payment: Online credit card payment only.
- Please check the website for registration status two days after payment.
- Registration will close once capacity is reached to maintain quality.
- Unpaid registrations by the deadline will be automatically cancelled by the system.

Registration Fees (International Athletes)
- Event Package Includes: Opening & Closing Ceremonies, Official Athlete Kit, 3-Day MRT Pass, One-Day City Tour, and a Commemorative Medal.
Competition Rules
- Format: Dependent on the number of teams, but primarily Group Round Robin for preliminary and second rounds.
- Rulebook: Adopts the latest 2025-2028 International Beach Volleyball Rules.
- Match Format:
- Best of 3 Sets: Sets 1 & 2 played to 21 points; Set 3 (Tie-break) played to 15 points.
- Technical Timeout: In Sets 1 & 2, a 30-second Technical Timeout is automatically taken when the sum of both teams' scores equals 21.
- There is no Technical Timeout in the deciding (3rd) set.
- Referees: Qualified Referees (Grade C or above) appointed by the Chinese Taipei Volleyball Association.
Coach Regulations
- Quota: Max 2 coaches per team (Head Coach and Coach). Coaches are not permitted to provide on-court instruction.
- Attire: Coaches need not wear the same uniform as players but must wear casual/sportswear (length unrestricted). Shirtless implies are strictly prohibited. Inappropriate attire determined by the Technical Committee/Referees will result in revocation of coaching rights for that match.
- Signatures: Coaches must sign the score sheet before the match (after the toss). Coaches and team members must abide by Beach Volleyball rules.
- Location: The coach's seat is in the player's rest area. Coaches must remain seated during play and stoppages. Coaches switch sides when teams switch sides. If a coach leaves their seat/area, they lose coaching rights until they return.
- Instruction Timing: Coaches may give instructions during: warm-ups, timeouts, technical timeouts, intervals between sets, completed rallies (stoppages), and special interruptions. Instructions may be given while switching sides but must not delay the game. 42
- Restrictions: Coaches must not speak to players while the ball is in play. Violations are sanctioned the same as player misconduct.
- Sanctions: Coaches are considered team members; misconduct warnings and penalties apply equally.
- Requests: Coaches (and Captains) may request a timeout using the official hand signal after a dead ball and before the referee's whistle for service.
- Delays: If a player attempts to delay the game to receive coaching, it will be penalized as a "Delay."
Ranking System (Round Robin)
- Matches Won: Ranking is determined first by the number of matches won.
- Points: If match wins are equal, ranking is determined by points:
- 2-0 Win: Winner 3 pts, Loser 0 pts.
- 2-1 Win: Winner 2 pts, Loser 1 pt.
- Forfeit/Confiscated: 0 pts.
- Set Quotient: If points are tied, rank by (Total Sets Won ÷ Total Sets Lost).
- Point Quotient: If still tied, rank by (Total Points Won ÷ Total Points Lost).
- Tie-Breaker:
- If two teams are tied, the winner of the head-to-head match ranks higher.
- If three or more teams are tied, ranking is determined by a drawing of lots.
- Note: Teams that forfeit mid-tournament are excluded from rankings; all previous records involving that team are voided, and they are disqualified.
- Note: Verified impersonations result in disqualification and referral for disciplinary action.
Awards
- Top 4 Teams:
- 1st to 3rd Place: Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals.
- 4th Place: Certificate of Merit.
Important Notices
- Schedule: Adjustments due to typhoons or force majeure will be announced by the organizer.
- Logistics: Teams are responsible for their own transport and accommodation.
- Uniforms:
- Short sleeves, swimwear, or tank tops are permitted.
- Top/Jersey: Style and color must be uniform. Must have clearly visible numbers (1 and 2) on the chest and back.
- Bottoms: Style is unrestricted, but color must be uniform.
- Net Height:
- Men's Division: 2.43 m
- Women's & Fun Divisions: 2.24 m
- Numbering: Players must use the same jersey number throughout the tournament.
- ID Check: Player IDs must be submitted to the Control Committee for verification before entering the court.
- Disqualification: Eligibility violations, impersonation, or unsportsmanlike conduct will result in match forfeiture or disqualification.
- Disputes: Referee decisions regarding rules and interpretations are final.
- Walkovers:
- Teams must be ready 15 minutes before the match.
- Failure to appear within 5 minutes of the start time results in forfeiture.
- If the schedule advances, teams should play upon broadcast. If delayed, teams absent within 5 minutes of the broadcast forfeit.
- Identity Challenges: Must be requested before the match begins. No checks accepted after play starts.
- Protests: Must be submitted in writing within 30 minutes after the match, signed by the team leader, with a deposit of NT$ 3,000 (approx. USD $105). If the Jury deems the protest groundless, the deposit is confiscated.
- Refunds:
- Refunds (minus 10% admin fee) available if requested before the registration deadline.
- No refunds after the deadline.
- Full refunds if the event is cancelled due to force majeure.
- Conduct: Violations of sportsmanship or insulting referees by athletes/relatives may result in termination of all subsequent participation.
- Insurance: Athletes are insured for NT$ 3 million+ (Personal Accident) per Ministry of Sports regulations.
- Harassment Prevention: Complaints can be filed via Email (gaygames.tw@gmail.com) or immediately to the Chief Referee.
- Media Rights: Event photography/videography will be used for promotion and reporting.
- The organizer reserves the right to amend or interpret these regulations.
